A friend of mine posted on Instagram about a dream she had, and as soon as I read it, I knew I had to share it with all of you! I voxered her and asked if it was okay to share, and luckily she said, “go for it!”.
The JOY of the Lord is your strength, and shield. I had a dream the other night someone was trying to shoot my husband, so I leaned in front of him to protect him. I kept hearing shots firing but I realized I wasn’t in any pain. I looked up, smiled and realized that God’s JOY was my shield!! The person was confused, then was scared of me, because I was laughing, full of God’s JOY, then he ran off.”
Oh my goodness, I can’t even tell you how much I love this!!! I believe this dream is significant and a prophetic word for all of us. Satan is the man shooting bullets at us, trying to take us out. But “the joy of the Lord is our strength” (Nehemiah 8:10) and when we rise up against the enemy, and stand to defend those under attack, the enemy is powerless.
The enemy wants to take you out and he wants to take out those around you, which is why it’s so important that we know the truth, that we know who we are in the Lord, and we know the authority we carry when we are filled with His Spirit.
Through Christ we have been given all authority over the rulers of this earth.” Colossians 2:10 (NIV)
The Lord is calling us out of our place of suffering, into a place of joy!
I know life is good at beating us down and the lies we believe can feel all consuming at times, but that is not God’s plan for you! God has so much freedom and so much joy for you, if only you could turn away from the lies and acknowledge the truth.
You are my Strength and my Shield from every danger. When I fully trust in you, help is on the way. I jump for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate praise! I will sing songs of what you mean to me! You will be the Inner Strength of all your people, the Mighty Protector of all, the Saving Strength for all your anointed ones. Keep protecting and cherishing your chosen ones; in you they will never fall. Like a Shepherd going before us, keep leading us forward forever carrying us in your arms!” Psalm 28:7-9 (tPt)
“As you serve Him, be glad and worship Him. Sing your way into His presence with joy! And realize what this really means – we have the privilege of worshiping the Lord, our God. For He is our Creator and now we belong to Him! Psalm 100:2-3 (tPt)
What a beautiful picture, “sing your way into His presence with JOY!” I believe as we sing our way into His presence that we will find freedom, we will feel peace. Maybe some of you have already been “shot up” by the enemy, but as you sing your way into His presence and allow yourself to be filled with joy, you will begin to feel those wounds – the bullet holes – radiate with His presence. His light will begin to shine through you, from the inside out. Allow Him to speak truth to those holes and invite his wrap-around presence to heal them. The holes will leave behind a scar that will be a continual reminder, not of the pain you once endured, but of His love for you, His healing power and that His JOY is your strength.
Beautiful. We have the privilege of worshiping our God! Love this.
Amen! God can and will give you joy back into your life. He was very patient with me while I opened my ears and heart to hear Him. Singing praises to God will keep you in your joy.
Thank you for your words of “joy” today!
